Project Summary

Proper training for employees on inspection, placement, securing and use would vastly reduce falls from ladders. Engineering solutions such as ladder locks, ladder leashes, ladder leveling devices, spreading devices may also reduce falls from ladders and need to be properly demonstrated to employees using ladders. These can be demonstrated on video and illustrated in the Monthly Safety Plan handout. A visual based competent person training and best practices for residential contractors training employees on the job can be done both in print and electronically. Train the trainer programs for Ladder Safety will be presented at 5 Contractor Training Days around the State.
