Project Summary

Development of a broad based Return to Work Guide for the Fire Service agencies could help firefighters effectively return to work in a timely manner. The Guide would help departments develop job descriptions and light duty activities that firefighters could safely perform to remain a valuable member of their teams. The guide would cover return to work policies, specific modifications for light duty tasks, training for alternate on the job tasks and projects, fire agencies participation in Stay at Work programs, and real life successful examples of a program working for a firefighter and their fire agencies.
