DoG the WAGS: An Innovative Solution to Reduce Exposure to Waste Anesthetic Gases
Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation
Project Summary
The proposed project has three distinct purposes: 1) To create a robust categorization system for anesthetic gases to ensure appropriate levels of gas monitoring and employee training; 2) To create new training programs for at-risk employees and managers on how to reduce the risks of Waste Anesthetic Gases (WAG); and 3) To evaluate the effectiveness of a gas disposal device innovation, the DoG. If shown to be effective through an independent analysis, project staff will create and distribute an instructional video on how to reproduce the device at other hospitals.
