There is a major emphasis in the trucking industry on reducing accidents, injuries and the resulting L&I claims to workers. L&I's TIRES Program (Transportation Injury Reduction Compliance, Safety & Accountability) and the National Safety Council's Defensive Truck Driver Course are designed to accomplish this task. Safer Drivers - Workers Training Workers places these important programs into the hands of the workers so that behaviors can change and the goals of safer highways and a healthier workforce can be realized.
